Participants bring their own work-related documents and apply what they are learning to their documents. I have worked with Shea Writing & Training Solutions on a number of projects over the last four years. We first asked them to develop and deliver an online writing class for our global audit team. The results were beyond our expectations. The writing in the audit reports improved so that both the auditors and the management could see the difference.
The working relationship with Shea is very collaborative. They work hand-in-hand with you on the design, the development of materials, and the execution of the project. You have a real partner [who] listens and counters with advice and insight.
Our results have been exceptional. Our students are technical professionals in the health, safety, and environment disciplines. They rave about the classes and find the materials to be useful and relevant. They use them in their work and horde the old copies of the materials, even as new ones are made available.
Shea is a dynamic company with the clear focus on customer.
All the attendees have had very positive comments about the training sessions from the start. Also, I have had positive feedback in other ways, such as: (1) during my document editing feedback to individuals, I hear references made to what they learned in the class; (2) I heard one engineer mention how another engineer’s writing has dramatically improved since being in the class; and (3) in discussing the development of documents or presentations with others, we now use common concepts and terminology we learned in the class, thereby facilitating conversations of how to organize or improve a document. I am a big proponent of training for an entire team, such as we did here.
I really believe this training was a big success for us, as a team. I think it will lead to greater productivity, personal satisfaction, personal pride in our work product, and ultimately, greater understanding and positive recognition by our customers.
Shea’s training classes are a career game-changer! I’ve earned a living as a writer for decades, and still learned a lot from this training! The training covers more than grammar and punctuation; it helps you write concise materials that communicate clearly with your target audience. You’ll also learn tricks of the trade to get the most out of Microsoft word. The training is interactive, informative, and even fun. The activities that reinforce the training are very engaging. If you’re scheduling a class for your business, the folks at Shea work to incorporate your corporate branding and best practices into the course curriculum. The participants in my class who needed this training the most (engineers) all raved about how useful the classes were. As the person who has to proofread all technical papers for my company, I can attest that the writing class participants all benefited from the training.
